nova threads

There are many different aesthetic treatments available to lift and smooth fine lines and wrinkles, but NovaThreads utilize medical-grade PDO absorbable sutures that erase years from your appearance. At Simplicity Medspa, we offer NovaThreads as a way to stimulate the skin’s natural healing response for both immediate and long-lasting rejuvenation.

What are nova threads?

PDO sutures, the primary mechanism of action in NovaThreads, are used during cardiothoracic procedures such as open-heart surgery. These synthetic, absorbable sutures are made of polydioxanone and are considered to be one of the safest materials implanted in the body. This is an injectable treatment that requires no incisions or downtime.

The needles used for this procedure are pre-loaded with the PDO sutures, which are then strategically administered in a cross-hatch pattern underneath the skin to provide a strong foundation for skin improvement. This treatment option combats visible signs of aging in two major ways:

  • Immediate lifting: Fine lines and wrinkles are immediately lifted and smoothed for rejuvenation instantly visible.

  • Increased collagen production: Over 4 to 6 months, the skin’s healing response grows around the sutures for stronger, more flexible skin after the sutures are absorbed by the body.

The technique behind NovaThreads aims to recreate the natural “V” shape of younger-looking complexions, creating results that subtly enhance your appearance without looking overdone. With NovaThreads, results are immediate, long-lasting, and discreet without giving away that you have “had work done.”

PDO sutures are proven to be compatible with the skin, stimulating real collagen growth without irritating or injuring the skin or connective tissues. This procedure leaves no visible scarring or evidence of treatment aside from slight bruising, redness, or swelling at injection sites for the first 24 hours.
